Karah Ogle Michalik was born on November 27, 1922 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, to the late Leatha Askins Ogle and Jerman White Ogle. She passed away In Birmingham, AL at age 95 on August 14, 2018 as a result of complications from a hip fracture and pneumonia. Karah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was married to the love of her life, the late Eddie Michalik (Way Way) for 50 years and was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Michalik; brother, J.W. Ogle; sister, Nancy Warden and her beloved bird Buster. Karah is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Mays (Michael) and Debbie Holland (Con); grandchildren, Drew Holland (Lindsey) , Laura Holland, Patrick Mays (Jenna), Ali Krauss, and Melissa Kadish (Robert); and great-grandchildren, Graham Holland, Liam Holland, and Logan Mays. She lived in Montgomery, AL for 73 years and was the Office Manager at Miller's Ready to Wear for more than 25 years. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Way Way, time with her grandchildren, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, bingo, and bowling and was an avid fan of Auburn football. We would like to thank all the Physicians and Nurses who cared for our Mom during her stay at St. Vincent’s Hospital. We were truly blessed by their care and compassion. Also special thanks to Dr. Robert Brock for his unwavering care over the last 23 years. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Mercy Catholic Church in Montgomery, AL. The funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels.
