Kathryn Elizabeth McIver

McIVER, Kathryn Elizabeth Dean, 91, the spirited matriarch of our family and dear friend to so many, left us to enter her heavenly home on February 13, 2026, after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and cherished husband, CSM Allen M. McIver; son, Dee Mathis; parents, George L. Dean and Ruth Brantley Dean; siblings, Wayne Dean, Mary Guy, Betty Metts, and Alma Bayles. She is survived by her children, Steven M. McIver (Nancy), Teresa Kim Phillips, Eric Kevin Phillips (Karen), and Lee McIver Jordan (Michael); grandchildren, Robbie McIver (Stephanie), Amanda Chapman (Schuyler), Lauren McIver, Justin Phillips (Hannah), and Tara McIver McGlamery (Lucas), sister, Faye D Demarque, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Kathryn was completely devoted to her family, faith, and friends. She will be greatly missed by each person who knew her, but she is now healed and happy in the arms of Jesus (and Allen).

A brief graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Alicia Chalker officiating. Kathryn was an avid reader and a regular patron at the Millbrook Public Library, therefore, in lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Millbrook Public Library Children’s Program, P.O. Box 525, Millbrook, AL 36054.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, located at 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama, 36109, United States. The service is scheduled for February 17, 2026, starting at 11:00 am.
