

Kay Frances McCord Wilson, 87, a resident of the Hope Hull community, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus the evening of September 7, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at Jackson Hospital where she received excellent care from medical staff, following a brief illness. Visitation will be held Monday, September 21, 2026, at Hope Hull Community Church at 10:00am with a service following at 11:00am with Rev. Dr. Hunter Pugh officiating, and Reverends Clint Ware and Tanya Murphy also leading worship.
Mrs. Wilson was born to parents Otto H. McCord, Jr. and Frances Thames McCord Holland November 23, 1938. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Allen C. McCord and Charles H. McCord, Sr.; and two nephews, Charles H. "Chuck" McCord, Jr., and Chad T. McCord.
She is survived by her brother, Douglas B. McCord of Montgomery; sisters-in-law Deborah McCord of Auburn and Donna McCord of Burkville; her son, Thomas D. Wright of Baton Rouge; her grandson, Thomas Wright, Jr., of New Orleans; her granddaughter, Rosalyn W. Hall of Jena, LA; and two great-grandsons.
Mrs. Wilson was a retiree of South Central Bell Telephone Company, having begun her career in 1959. Amid several positions, she served as interim manager of the Natchitoches, Louisiana Bell South office in the 1970s. She also served in various capacities in several states before taking the position of Staff Manager after thirty-two years of dedicated service.
She was a 2016 Legacy member of Hope Hull Community Church (formerly Hope Hull United Methodist Church) which she joined in 1957. While attending, she served on almost every church committee. She also served as one of the Roy Alverson adult Sunday School class teachers. She was a member and officer of the Hope Hull Women’s Club.
Kay was a true blessing to Hope Hull UMC her entire, long-lived life. We can all see and benefit from all her hard work and devoted service. We can almost hear her Lord Monday night saying to her, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness.”
