Lailia Olivi Roberson

Lailia Olivi Roberson , 90, a resident of Montgomery, AL., passed away at her residence on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October21, 2022 at 11:00am at Dalraida Baptist Church, 3838 Wares Ferry Road, Montgomery, AL. with Rick Evans officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00am until 11:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery.

Mrs. Roberson is survived by her husband of 72 years, Reverend Doyle Roberson, and her sons, William Roberson and David Roberson; grandchildren, Anna Roberson of New York and Richard Roberson of Denver Colorado. She is preceded in death by her mother, Vergie Lee Miller; father, Bryant Miller; and a sister Frances Martin.

Olivi dearly loved the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ and served them faithfully her whole life with all her strength, and with all her possessions. She served along with her husband, Doyle, for fifty-two years in ministry.

Olivi was a faithful member of the Dalraida Baptist Church for over 30 years. She loved her church family dearly, and she ministered to many people of all ages throughout her life. She served in many capacities in Dalraida Baptist Church , including Sunday School, New Beginning Fellowship and choir, Women’s Missionary Union, and the church’s homebound ministry.

She was a faithful friend to so many people, always remembering birthdays, anniversaries and important occasions, usually with a card and a box of chocolate fudge. She always gave homemade, handcrafted quilts to new moms in the church for each new born baby. Her concern for others truly revealed her loving heart and her genuine desire to make sure others felt loved and appreciated. Ms Olivi truly was a blessing to all who knew her. She will surely be missed!
