He served his country with both honor and pride in the US Air Force. Lamar a respected man of God, retired from the transportation industry.
His love for his family was endless. He is the son of Ocie and Ammie Lee Hornsby. Brother Jimmy (Linda) Hornsby Sister Linda (Wayne) Grantham. Son Kent (Susan)Hornsby . Grandsons Jay (Angie) Hornsby, Jeff Hornsby, Theo Hornsby, Timothy Hornsby, great grand children Ava, Emily and Joshua Hornsby; his Daughter Kim Barwick , Grand children Charity( Jay ) Montague Rachel (Trevor) Gnemi, Great grand children Christian Montague, Noah Montague, Brooklynn Grace Montague;
his Son Jody (Billie) Summerlin grandson Joshua Summerlin.
Lamar is waiting on the reunion of his wife Linda, his best friend and the love of his life for 43 years.
Everyone who knew them shared in their special bond and deep love they had for each other. Linda was always quick to say he was a gift from God and a treasure. He will be greatly missed by everyone he touched.
His precious grandsons and great grandsons will be caring him to glory. Jay Hornsby, Jeff Hornsby, Timothy Hornsby, Joshua Summerlin, Christian Montague and Noah Montague.
A family and friends visitation for Lamar will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the family and friends visitation will be a Celebration of Life graveside at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
