Leila Jean McDonald Davis went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, April 5, 2019, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, JW and Mary Lee McDonald and her daughter, Debbie Davis.
Jean is survived by her best friend and husband of 52 years, William “Tommy” Davis; her two daughters, Jeri (Lamar) Smith and Cindy (Matt) Strickland; four grandchildren, Tripp (Morgan) Smith, Taylor (Kalee) Smith, Jack Strickland, and Lucy Strickland; one great-grandchild, Brylee Smith; and numerous other family members and friends.
Jean was a fantastic cook, best known for her amazing dressing and *real* banana pudding. She was also an extraordinary crafter and particularly enjoyed sewing, quilting, and jewelry making. After her retirement, she especially loved taking care of Brylee, Jack, and Lucy. Our lives are all the better for having known and loved Jean, and we will all miss her greatly.
Visitation will be at Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 10 am. Funeral will follow at 11:00am with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Jean’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
