Leta Rue Perkins

Ever the gracious lady, Leta Rue Smith Perkins passed with dignity and serenity from our arms to the arms of Jesus on Monday, June 10, 2013. And He greeted her with Joy. Rue Smith Perkins was born in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Cephas Little and Ada Burnett Smith. She was preceded in death by her young daughter, Joy Denise Perkins; her granddaughter, Chelsea Helms; her parents, and her siblings. Our precious gift from God was returned to Him by her husband and soul mate, James Wesley Perkins; her daughters: Sheryl Gaye Perkins Parnell, Lynette LaReese Perkins Helms, and Melody Jean Perkins Westbrook; her two sons-in-law; her grandchildren: Amber Parnell Stuart, Jessica Parnell Tucker, Celeste Helms Goodwin, Jaime Parnell Nyman, Wesley Perkins Turner, Autumn Joy Parnell; and fourteen great grandchildren. We are all profoundly grateful that life picked her for us. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15th at Leak Memory Chapel with Reverend David Carucci officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, June 14th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be appreciated or contributions may be made in Rue’s name to the charity of your choice.
