Lois was born on May 25, 1928 in Burkville, AL and went to heaven on August 12, 2022, peacefully at home in Montgomery, AL, at the age of 94.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Nolton Sadler and Lois Whittington Sadler, and husbands, Jefferson Gilbert Beale, Jr and John Wesley Durr, and brother, Lee Frank Sadler.
She is survived by her children, Jefferson Gilbert Beale, III (Nancy), Sadler Beale McLemore (Tom), Nolton “NoNo” Daniel Beale (Kate), Alice “Sista” Beale Varner (Rob), Lucy Durr Berry and James Judkins Durr, II.
Grandchildren: Mary Martha McLemore Walker (Garrett), Thomas Oliver McLemore, III (Pam), Whittington Sadler McLemore Black (Wesley), Alice Beale McLemore Vosel (Stephen), Jade Elizabeth Currid, Bibb Robinson Beale (Amy), Sadler Sullivan Beale Ward (Corbin), Robert Parker Varner, Jr. (Sara), Jefferson Daniel Varner (Sarah), William David Varner, II (Mariana), Alice Sadler Varner, Sarah Collins Durr, Olivia Collins Berry and 21 great grandchildren.
Lois graduated from Hayneville High School and Brenau College where she was a member of Tri Delta Sorority. She was a long serving member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she served on the WIC Council, taught Sunday school and was instrumental in starting the Trinity Church Bookstore. She was interim headmistress of Trinity Presbyterian School and served on the school’s Board for many years. She was an active member in the Montgomery Junior League and was a Save-a-Life counselor for many years. She was the last surviving member of “The Sewing Club”.

Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on August 17, 2022 at 10:00 am CST, with the Reverends Claude McRoberts and Michael Howell officiating. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

A celebration of life graveside service for Lois will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery.
