Lois retired from Civil Service in Base Contracts at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, after 27 faithful years. She remained active with her retirement group from Maxwell.
Lois was a lifelong member and always active in her church, Forest Avenue Methodist and Aldersgate UMC, serving in numerous capacities with UMW Circle, as a Greeter on Sunday mornings, working in the nursery, and in the Pathfinders’ Sunday School Class. She served as a Girl Scout leader, and was always available to care for those who needed her. She was a wonderful cook and gardener, providing food and passing along recipes and plants to friends and family. Lois truly enjoyed organizing church, family, and friend gatherings.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ralph Snider; her brothers, Robert Noland, Wesley Noland, Paul Noland, JB Noland, Olin Noland, William Noland, James Henry Noland, Jr.; her twin sister, Fannie Lola Noland Dodson; and grandson, Michael Allphin. She is survived by her son, James Albert Snider (Lane Ogletree) Brandon, MS; her daughters, Beverly Snider Griffith (Charly), Pike Road; and Karen Snider Prescott, Holtville; her sister, Mary Elizabeth Noland Williams, Birmingham; grandchildren, Lane Snider McDaniel (David), Brandon, MS; Matthew Allphin (Christin), Spring, TX; Tyler Griffith, Pike Road, Garrett Prescott, Auburn; Kendall Griffith Williams (Matt), Tallassee; and Jocelyn Prescott Gardner (Joseph), Montgomery; 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road Montgomery Alabama, on June 8, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 with funeral service following at 2:00.
