Lorraine McLaney

Lorraine McLaney, 73, a resident of Sprague, Al., died Friday, May 27, 2022 at her home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 10:00 am at Sprague Family Cemetery on Hwy 331S with Minister Tim Rine officiating. Mrs. McLaney was a beloved wife and mother and a devoted LaLa to her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Vaughn Park Church of Christ, a Master Gardener, enjoyed watching birds and loving on her sweet dog Mollie. She spent countless hours supporting her community especially all the SMCA students that she loved and referred to as her other children. She is still today called Pearl from the many years at The Haunted Hayride.

She is preceded in death by her parents Annie Belle and Clayton Bolivar Dawson, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Richard McLaney, daughters Tyler McLaney Strickland (David), Susanna McLaney and Kate McLaney Woddail (Joseph), grandchildren Dawson, Parker and Gracie Strickland, brothers Tommy Dawson (Judy) and Mitch Dawson (Rose) and many loving nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Strickland, Dawson Strickland, Parker Strickland, Joseph Woddail, Tryon McLaney and Clay Henley. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Vaughn Park Church of Christ from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made by check to The Sprague Cemetery Fund, 540 West Sprague Junction Rd., Sprague, Al., 36069. Leak Memory Chapel directing.
