

Vines, Louise M., 102, passed June 7, 2014. Mrs. Vines was a past state president of Garden Clubs of Alabama and a national director. She was also a past president of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and past president of Montgomery Music Club. Mrs. Vines was a charter member of both Alabama Society of Flower Show Judges and Landscape Design Consultants. She judged flower shows in many states. She was active in church work all her life and enjoyed teaching classes. She was a member of Marler Rd. Church of Christ. Mrs. Vines lived in Gadsden many years and was Woman of the Year in 1962 and was a school teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years James C. Vines Sr. Visitation will be at Leak Memory at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 14 and the funeral at 2:00 pm, the date of her 103'd birthday.
Survivors include son, James C. Vines Jr. and wife, Sheila of Montgomery; daughter, Patricia of Pensacola, FL; Four grandsons, James C. Vines, lll and wife, Mary of New York, William M. Vines and wife, Kendra of Madison, Ms., James Parsons of Springfield, Mo., Randal Parsons and wife, Brenda of Laguna, CA; Great-grandchildren, Clark and Tommy Vines of New York, Sarah and Aaron Parsons of Lagunao, CA.; Step-granddaughter, Tammy Cox and husband, Tim of Spanish Fort, AL.; step great-grandsons, Zack and Garrett Cox.
