Lucian L. Smith, Jr. 86, of Montgomery passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Lucian was a native of Montgomery and a veteran of WW II and the Korean War. He held a reserve commission in the Judge Advocate General’s Dept of the US Air Force until 1961. He held an AB degree in Economics from Samford University in Birmingham and a JD degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa. Lucian was a member of the Alabama Bar Association from 1955 until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents Lucian L. Smith, Sr., and Willodene Cook Smith and his sister Elizabeth S. Launder. Survivors include his brother James Bernard (Nell) Smith of Dothan; sisters: Mary S. Bradley of Prattville and Sally S. Watson of Pensacola, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, January 5, 2012 at Rocky Mount Cemetery in Highland Home, AL.
