
Blankenship, Lucille Flowers, age 100, resident of Montgomery passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverends Rick Evans and Doyle Robinson officitaing.Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Joquin Baptist Church Cemetery in Crenshaw County. Visitation will be held one hour proir to the services. Lucille was born to Elijah and Mamie Warrick Roberts of Crenshaw County. She was the 3rd born of nine siblings. Lucille lived there until her marriage to Lamar Flowers of Pike County. She lived in Pike County most of her life, but later lived in Crenshaw, Elmore and Montgomery Counties. She was a member of Joquin Baptist Church, New Home Baptist and Dalraida Baptist Churches. Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her two husbands, Lamar Flowers of Pike County and Archie Blankenship of Elmore County; three sons, Charles, Benny and Gerald Flowers; 3 sisters and 5 brothers. She is survived by her children, Brunese Mitchell of Troy, Lorena Connor and Kline Flowers of Montgomery; 4 step-children, Hazel Knee, Lola Womble, Benny Lee Blankenship and Carrie Nell Morrow; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Homemakers Club, a nurses aide @ St. Margarets hospital and was elected Mother of the Year of Elmore County. She enjoyed attending church, cooking and sewing but her favorite thing was visiting with family and friends.
