Mack was born on December 19, 1946, in Montgomery to Mack and Macel Nixon. A dedicated and hardworking man, he spent more than 50 years working as an auto mechanic.
Outside of work, Mack enjoyed fishing, traveling, and watching NASCAR racing. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love and support touched all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sarah Nixon; his sister, Alma Bassa; his son, Lee Nixon; his daughter, Kim Hooper; and his beloved grandchildren, Owen and Adam Hooper.
Mack will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Cemetery in Lapine, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Creative Enterprises, a nonprofit organization that provides day services for adults with special needs.
