Mack Thacker passed away on July 19, 2025, after a long illness. He was a resident of Prattville, AL and formerly of Montgomery and Oakman, AL. Mack served as a member of the Alabama Air National Guard 280th Combat Communications Squadron serving 38 years, he received many awards and citations. He was a member of American Legion Post 2 and Post 122 but also participated in the Montgomery Civitans even serving as president for a year.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Melva; his mother and father as well as 8 siblings. Mr. Thacker is survived by his children, Leanne Wadsworth (Jack) and Billy Thacker (Lynda); grandchildren, Aimee Bentley (Luke IV), Justin Moody (Lacey), and Will Thacker; great grandchildren, Luke V, Annalee, Sam and Tristan Bentley, Parrish, Lane and Mack Moody; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service was held at Alabama Heritage Cemetery on Thursday, July 24, 2025. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
