Mally "Pete" Lewis Turner Jr.

Mally Lewis “Pete” Turner, Jr., age 86, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on October 20, 2016. Pete passed peacefully with his loving wife of 60 years by his side. Pete was born in Wetumpka, Alabama on September 19, 1930 and was a lifelong resident of Montgomery, Alabama. Pete married his loving wife, Barbara, on June 2, 1956 at Clayton Street Baptist Church. A veteran of the Korean War, he later retired, after many years of dedicated employment, from Chevron Oil Company. He was also very involved in the community as a member of Khur-Um Masonic Lodge #158—and later the Montgomery No. 11 Masonic Lodge—and the Alcazar Shrine Temple, where he was a charter member of the Golf-N-Nobles. Pete was also a dedicated member of Eastmont Baptist Church. During his free time, he led an active life and was a passionate golfer and could always be found teeing off as a member of Bonnie Crest Country Club for over 40 years. A devoted sports fan and family man, Pete also enjoyed sharing his passion for Alabama football with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Lee Ola Hatley, father Mally Lewis Turner, Sr. and grandson Jarrett Eugene Price. Survivors include his wife Barbara Parker Turner, son Michael Lewis (Cindy) Turner, daughter Cindy Ann Turner, grandchildren Brittany Ann (Cody) Treadway, Matthew Lewis Turner, Kelsey Leigh Turner, great grandson Cayson Jarrett Treadway and brother-in-law Haywood Parker, Sr., along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Sunday October 23, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and graveside services to follow at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery at 2:45 p.m. Pastor Mike Northcutt will officiate with Masonic Services to follow. Pallbearers are Joe Andrew, David Barath, Pete Friedel, Lewis Harris, Haywood Parker, Jr., and William Harold Parker. Pete will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather as well as a loving friend to many. He was a very gracious, loving man with a gentle soul. He will be greatly missed.
