Marc was born in Bessemer, Alabama to John Hall and Ann Smith Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Steve Hall.
He is survived by his wife Karen Carpenter Hall, daughters Bethany Hall Brendle (Hunter) and Laura Hall (Max Pray), son Lee Hall, and his grandchildren Fischer, Avonlea, and Archer Brendle.
Marc and Karen met while working together at Steak and Ale in Birmingham during the fall of 1979 and married the following May.
Marc obtained his law degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1981. After 2 years in private practice, he accepted a teaching position at Auburn University Montgomery until cancer forced an early retirement in 2014. He spent his retirement years focused on traveling the world with his wife, spending time at the beach with family and friends, caring for his son with special needs, and doting on his grandchildren.
Marc will be deeply missed by his family, countless friends, coworkers, students, and all strangers that had the opportunity of sharing a conversation with him!
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Marc will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Heritage Baptist Church located at 1849 Perry Hill Road, Montgomery, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, Marc would have wanted donations to be made to his son’s special needs program: Children’s Center Adult Program at P. O. Box 3098, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
