Margaret McDade Halbert

Margaret is survived by; son, Chris (Tina) Halbert; and son, Erich (Sherry) Halbert; sister, Joanne McDade and sister Sara McDade; grandson, John Raleigh Halbert.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, (Ret.) Lt. Col., John Garold Halbert; son, Stephen Nicholas Halbert; father, Edgar J. McDade and mother, Viola Wells McDade; brother, Dudley H. Wells; sister, Annie Mae Robinson; sister, Avie Lene Jehle and sister, Betty Johns.

Margaret enjoyed being an Air Force wife and raising her three sons. She was very active in the Officer's Wife's Club and loved traveling. She was a lifelong member of Heritage Baptist Church. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandson, Raleigh. She loved playing bridge and was an avid Auburn fan, "War Eagle". Her family enjoyed her excellent cooking. One of her favorite activities later life was spending afternoons with her son, Chris and her favorite dog, Bonnie , on the front porch talking. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A graveside service for Margaret will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery, 909 Lincoln Rd., Montgomery, AL.
