Margaret (JoAnn) Room Mays, age 79, a resident of Wetumpka, AL, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Mays. She is survived by her children, Roger Mays (Joann), Lois Shumaker, Carol Busbee (Steve) and Richard Mays; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and 1 brother. JoAnn had been a member of Sigma Beta Phi since 1984, a member of Eastmont Baptist Church since 1993 and a member of the Gunter NCO wives club. The family will receive visitors at Leak-Memory in Montgomery, AL Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be held at Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00AM with Pastor Mike Northcutt officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Diabetes Foundation or the Wounded Warrior’s Foundation.
