Margaret Manuel McLaurin

McLaurin, Margaret Manuel, age 104 a resident of, Montgomery, Alabama, died Tuesday February 28, 2018. Margaret was married to Harlon B. McLaurin for 64 years. Harlon passed away in June 2001. Margaret was a member of Dalraida Baptist Church and The Eastern Star. She attended Auburn University and graduated with a teaching degree from Florence State Teachers College. Margaret’s father, James Goldie Manuel, was a pioneer in education for West Jefferson, Alabama. He was the principal of West Jefferson High School in its early years.

She is survived by her nephews Billy McLaurin (Shirley) of Albuquerque, N.M., James D. Vanderver (Nancy) of St. Augustine, Fl., and nieces Donna V. Keith (Bobby) of Hoover, Al., Cheryl Pittman Oakley of Tallahassee, Fl.,and Mary Pittman Jones (Gareth) of Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

Graveside services will be at 11:00AM at Crumley Chapel Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama on March 5, 2018.
