Marianne Williams of Montgomery, AL left this world for her heavenly home on July 9, 2026. Marianne was born in 1952 in Brewton, Alabama to Hazel and Penniman Williams. Marianne, twin to Marilyn (deceased), spent her formative years in Tuskegee, AL. She graduated UAB school of nursing in the 70’s. After graduation, she made her home in Montgomery, AL, where she served as an RN for Baptist Medical Center for 40 years. During Covid she volunteered in her hometown of Tuskegee to administer Covid vaccines.
Marianne, a talented artist, created intricate needlework ornaments and quilts that she shared with her family and friends. She had a compassionate servant’s heart sitting with the ill and elderly, providing meals for those in need, and comfort quilts to cancer patients.
She mailed over 600 birthday cards a year, bringing delight and joy to those who received them. She was an avid reader and the family genealogist. She was kind and patient with a selfless heart, giving of her time to teach all manner of skills from quilting, needlepoint, jelly-making, and gardening.
Marianne’s faith was the cornerstone of who she was and how she carried out her life. She was a devoted charter member of Vaughn Park Church of Christ where she served tirelessly in a multitude of capacities; volunteering her time to serving the homeless, meal boxes to those in need, preparing meals for and visiting the sick and shut in, loving on the babies in the nursery, cleaning the sanctuary after communion, and counting the money to name a few. Her congregation was her family and will miss her greatly.
