Marie Clay

Marie Clay, age 93, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Marie was born in New Hope, AL, to Harry Goin and Violet Cobb Goin. She grew up in Grant (north Alabama) and was one of 11 children. She later married Kenneth O'Neal Clay, lived in many places as part of his military service and settled in Montgomery, AL around 1969. Mrs. Clay was a very active member in her church, First Assembly of God, and was always busy finding ways to serve others. She was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, leader in the Women's Ministry and became a licensed minister. She enjoyed crafts, cake decorating and fishing.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth O'Neal Clay and her parents, Harry and Violet Goin and her 10 siblings. She is survived by her children, Roger Alan Clay (Karen) and Linda Deborah Langford (David); her grandchildren, Jeremy Alan Clay, and Heather Lynn LaPointe (Kevin).

A family and friends visitation for Marie will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the family and friends visitation will be a celebration of life graveside at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Jim Ingram.
