

Marilyn Williams Carpenter of Montgomery, Al left this world for her heavenly home on April 18, 2022. Marilyn was born in 1952 in Brewton Alabama to Hazel and Penniman Williams. Marilyn is ‘’THE BABY” of the family, arriving 5 minutes after her twin sister, Marianne, aka Tuta. Marilyn spent her formative years in Tuskegee Alabama. She graduated from Notasulga High School, class of 1970. Marilyn moved to Montgomery in 1976 with her daughter Sandy Jo where she met her greatest love, Jim Carpenter. Jim and Marilyn were married in June of 1979. Jim was her Prince Charming who treated her like the queen she was.
An avid stitcher, she made approximately 25 quilts and she hand-stitched intricate beaded Christmas ornaments for family and friends, true family heirlooms.
Marilyn also loved her homegrown veggies and flowers, she retired from Region’s bank after 23 years where she formed a tight bond with her coworkers and began a stitch group.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Jim Carpenter; parents, Penniman and Hazel Josey Williams; grandparents Penniman Marvin and Jessie Grant Williams; and Joseph Howard and Gussie Worrell Jossey.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter Sandy (Asher) Cauthen, son, JT (Dawn) Carpenter, and John Carpenter; sisters, Virginia (Glen) Huggins, Geraldine (Jimmy) Bohn, and her twin sister Marianne Williams; grandchildren William (Kitty) Cauthen, Ian Cauthen, Chelsea Cauthen and Faulkner (Clemmie) Cauthen, Ellery Carpenter and Noah Carpenter; great grandchildren Shelby, Corbin, Hera, Alex, Oliver and Leo; nieces Jeni Huggins, Beth (Brian) Whitehurst, Cara (Warren) Casey, and Anna (Brian) Ward; and a plethora of great nieces and nephews.
She was Kind. She was tech Savvy. She was a Loving wife.
She was a Loving mother. She was a Loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an Amazing Aunt. She was the Best Sister. She had the Best Twin Bond. She had a True Heart of Gold. She loved with her whole heart. She Loved the Lord.
