Marion Thomas Dees, Jr. a resident of Montgomery, Alabama for 65 years, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at White Chapel – Greenwood Funeral Home. Graveside services will be on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm in Greenwood Cemetery with Navy honors. Pastor Scott Hedgecock will officiate the service. Mr. Dees was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Thomas Dees and granddaughter Dawn Baker. He is survived by two loving daughters, Margie Ann Johnson (Jim) of Montgomery, Alabama and Rogene Ramp (Bill) of Austin, Texas; granddaughter, Brittany Nelson (Adam); grandson, Scot Tadlock; great grandson, Kai Tadlock; great granddaughter, Brayley Nelson; sister, Hazel Salter of Selma, Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Dees retired from the State of Alabama after 30 years and retired from the Montgomery City Water Works after 15 years. He was also a World War II veteran with the U.S. Navy and a deacon at Hail’s Chapel Baptist Church in Troy, Alabama. The family would like to thank Baptist Hospice and Home Helpers for the care they provided to Mr. Dees during his illness.
