Mark Edward Hunter

Mark grew up in Tallassee, Alabama and graduated from Tallassee High School in 1980. He went to UAB and graduated with a degree in Medical Records. He worked in Prattville at the Autauga Medical Center after graduation. He has worked in New York and Montgomery in communications, advertising and marketing. He was active in the Montgomery theater scene at Cloverdale Playhouse, performing in productions like “Wait Until Dark”.

Mark loved his family, especially his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, who affectionately called him Gum- “Great Uncle Mark”.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Murray O’Neal Hunter and Fannie Ballantine Hunter Mason.

He is survived by his brothers, Tony Hunter (Brenda) of Valdosta, GA and Micheal Hunter (Shawn) of Pensacola, FL; his sister, Phyllis Richardson (Tim) of Mobile, AL; his nephews and nieces, Pat Hunter, Lauren Hunter Kieff, Blake Hunter, Carrie Hunter Linnville (Chris), Emily Richardson Hoggard (Joel), Ashley Richardson Walker (Steven), Jonathan Richardson (Katie), Sarah Richardson Cottrell (Cody) and several great-nieces and nephews; his cousins, Lyle Wilder (David), Beth Camp (Billy), Paul Anthony (Aileen), and Danny Barker (Renee); and a number of close, loving friends who will feel his loss.

Pallbearers will be Layne Holley, Jonathan Richardson, David Wilder, Jay Wilder, Danny Barker, and Paul Anthony.

A friends and family visitation for Mark will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:00 PM.
