

Mark was born in El Paso, Texas. He moved to Montgomery from Washington state in 1977.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Bethany J. Waldrop, his parents Melvin T. and Inez L. Waldrop, and his oldest brother Melvin D. "Wally" Waldrop.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Debra Ward Waldrop. His beloved children Kimberly Fulmer (Rudy), Marcus A. Waldrop, and Kalan J. Waldrop. His beloved grandchildren Kyley B. and Mark "Asher" Fulmer, Aubrye J., Jessie L., and Hunter G. Hall. His precious great grandchildren Ruby M. Hart and Justin M. Reed. They all loved their Papa so much. They were his heart.
Mark graduated as an RN with his A.S.N. degree from Troy University of Montgomery. The majority of his nursing career was spent as a surgical/O.R. nurse. This led him to join the Army National Guard on June 6, 1988, and later transfer to the Army Reserves December 4, 1999. He served in Operation Desert Storm/Shield and in Operation Enduring Freedom. His unit set up hospitals for the forward surgical teams to treat wounded soldiers. Mark retired as a Major after serving 23 years.
A visitation for Mark will be held Friday, August 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM.
