Marlion E. Tillery

Marlion Emerson Tillery, was born in Troy, Alabama to Kendrick and Dixie Tillery on September 30, 1933. He served his country during the Korean War and was stationed in England. After the service, he was employed by the State of Alabama in various progressive positions including the Director of Drafting and Reproduction. He reproduced the first color State Seal and Code of Arms. He worked closely for numerous years with Gov. George C. Wallace and was the official videographer for historical Alabama events and with assisting with procurement of foreign contracts. In addition he earned his Real Estate license and was employed by Register Reality. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and coached little league baseball. He retired from the state with 25 + years of service. After retiring he drove and retrieved cars from Jack Ingram Motors and Toyota. He and his wife enjoyed attending auctions and own booths at East Brook Flea Market.Marlion is survived by his wife of 57 1/2 years Louise Beasley Tillery: 2 children: Robert Marlion Tillery (Kim) Lisa Louise Tillery Rogers (John): 5 grandchildren: Bryan Robert Tillery (Stephanie) Amy Tillery White (Adam) Corp. Matthew Marlion Tillery (Hailey) Rachel Louise Rogers, John Ryan Rogers 4 Great-grandchildren: Seth, Silas, Aubrey, and Lucy. Visitation and viewing will be 1 hour prior to the 2:30pm service at Leak Memory, Monday, January 20, 2014. Graveside service will follow immediately at Greenwood Cemetery.
