Marsha Koppersmith Lushington

Marsha Koppersmith Lushington, age 71, of Tallassee, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Marsha was born August 5, 1950 in Mobile, Alabama to Ferdinand Miles Koppersmith Jr. and Frances Beatrice Riley. She was preceded in death by her beloved high school sweetheart and husband, Rusty Lushington and her parents.

Mrs. Lushington is survived by her children Ben, Danny, Katie and Kristin; her grandchildren Lilly, Hailey, Amelia, Alice, Molly, Ella, and Rusty (almost here); and her siblings Miles Koppersmith and Mary Joiner.

A Catholic High School graduate and an Auburn University alumnae, she enjoyed reading, scrabble with Father Lynch, collecting seashells on the beach, and traveling. Active in her church, she was a lay minister and a member of Association of Christians in Tallassee. Gifted with a delightful sense of humor, Marsha was smart and quick witted. She was known for her heart for service and her love for her family.

A rosary service for Mrs. Lushington will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 at 9:30 AM at St Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 620 Gilmer Ave., Tallassee, AL. A family and friends visitation will occur from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral mass service at 11:00 AM. Services will conclude with a graveside at 1:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.

Pallbearers will be Eric Joiner, Jr., Clint Joiner, Chuck Cone, Rusty Cone,Trey Riley and Scott Riley with honorary pallbearers as Danny Cone and Miles Koppersmith. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Alisha, Tracy, April and Douglas of Ivy Creek Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marsha's memory may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 620 Gilmer Ave., Tallassee, Alabama 36078.
