Mary Ann Cone

March 9, 2022. She was born October 14, 1935 in Crenshaw County to Leo and Nobie Spradley. She married Wilbur K. Cone on April 12, 1952 and celebrated over 60 years of marriage before his death in 2013.

Mary Ann was a charter member of Open Acres Baptist Church and had a faithful ministry to children and senior adults at Capitol Heights Baptist Church for many years. She stayed steadfast in her faith.

She was preceded in death by her son, David W. Cone. Survivors include her sisters, Nina Jean Hensley, Jenny Allen and brother Tom Spradley. Her children, Debbie (Roy) Farthing, Rick (Cherrie) Cone and Carol

(Mike) Mitchell. Her grandchildren, Christy Moncrief, Steven and Brent Farthing, Danny and Brad Cone, Karin Mitchell, Michael and Ashley Mitchell and Tyler Cone; great-grandchildren, Mikel Simersky, Katie and Seth Farthing, Colby Farthing, Lily and Liam Mitchell, Tyler Cone, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary Ann loved her God, her Family and Alabama Football and her family loved her. She always had an open door, a listening ear and a warm smile and she will be sorely missed but we know she is rejoicing in heaven.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 on March 16th in the afternoon at Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. Rick Marshall officiating. Visitation will begin one hour earlier at Leak Memory Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Brent Farthing, Danny Cone, Brad Cone, Michael Mitchell, Mikal Simersky, Mike Mitchell and Roy Farthing. The family extends a special thanks to Carol Mitchell for her tender care of our sweet mother.
