

Mary Lee Hancock, 98, passed away April 2, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Thomas I. Hancock, son Thomas I. V. Hancock, and parents Comer W. Knight and Lee Long Thames Knight. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Stringer (Ray) and daughter in law Donna Hancock. She is also survived by grandchildren Alycia Crews (Chuck), Amelia Manning (Mark), Robin Cook, Susan Carroll, Rick Cook, Paul McKee, and Dana Hewitt (Tim). She also has several great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.
She was born in Greenville, Alabama and moved to Montgomery in the early 1940s with her family and was a 1945 graduate of St. Mary of Loretto High School, now Catholic High School. She was employed by the State of Alabama as a typist for 32 years.
Mary Lee and Thomas were faithful and active members of First Baptist Church of Montgomery. As a member she helped with the Caring Center and The Living Christmas Tree.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd., Montgomery, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 1:00PM and Service at 2:00PM. Burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
