Mary John Garrett Byrd went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 31, 2019 after a courageous fight against cancer. Mary John was born in Montgomery on April 28, 1947. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. C.M. Stowers and Mr. & Mrs. C.E. Garrett, and her parents, John A. and Katherine Garrett of Snowdoun, Alabama.
Mary John is survived by her husband, Sim Byrd; her sister, Kitty Garrett Dawson (the late Sam Dawson); her nieces and nephew, Kitty Dawson Norris, Mary Dawson McDougal, Sam Dawson, Jr.; and her loving dogs, Isabelle and Simon.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, from 5:30-7:30pm at her home, 3526 Summerhill Ridge, Montgomery, Alabama 36111.
