Mary Dean Pouncey

Mary Dean Pouncey, age 92, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Mary was born March 18, 1929 to Gaston W. Dean and Ruth Dean. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Pouncey; her parents; and her siblings Jeanette E. Wingard, Carol Zirkle, Bill Dean; her nephews Danny Morgan, Kevin Dean , Bobby Dean; and her nieces Sharon Dean and Dana Hart. Mrs. Pouncey is survived by her daughter Cindy Nummy; two grandchildren Jake and Wesley Nummy; nieces Patti Hodge, Tracy Aguoyo, Teri Hasey, Kim Northington, Kathy Autrey, Tammy Sheffler, Jessica Hill and Shelia Mizzell; nephews Doug Pouncey, Gary Pouncey, Bob Pouncey, Harry Pouncey, Brad Pouncey, Steve Wingard and Billy Dean. Pallbearers will be Jay Northington, Zac Camp, Jeff Ruffin and other nephews.

Known as "everyone's favorite aunt," Mary had a quick wit and great sense of humor. A graduate of Lanier High School, she worked for Civil Service for 30+ years but will be remembered most for her love of her family. Her hobbies included reading (a particularly broad taste in a variety of books), working cross word puzzles and working in her yard.

A visitation for Mrs. Pouncey will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:00 PM. Services will conclude with a burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
