Mary Anne Pouncey

Ms. Pouncey was born in Troy, Alabama. She worked in education 40 years from 1973 until May 2013 when she retired as a media specialist at W. S. Neal High School in East Brewton, Alabama. She enjoyed working with her students and helping them to realize their dreams can come true. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Charlie M. Pouncey and Agnes Grissette Pouncey; her brother, William (Bill) Gene Boone.

Survivors include one sister, Margaret E. Pouncey, Montgomery, AL; sister-in-law, Linda Jordan Boone, Raleigh, NC; two nephews, William (Gene) Boone, Tampa, FL, and J. Darryl Boone, Greensboro, NC; great nephew, William L. Boone, Greensboro, NC; two “adopted’ sisters, Melissa Heflin, Gautier, MS and Brenda Domingus, Montgomery, AL; numerous cousins; devoted friends, Cassandra Culliver, Edward Woods, and Alice Woods.

Pallbearers include Jack Boothe, Butch Grissette, Joe O’Neal, Craig Pouncey, Clarence Pouncey, Wes Pouncey, and honorary pall bearer Edward Woods.

Visitation will be at 10 am; funeral services will be at 11am on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, AL, and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery behind Leak Memory. Bill Robinson, evangelist, with Perry Hill Road Church of Christ, will perform the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
