Mary E Pouncy

Funeral Services will be at 2 pm Sunday, June 1st at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, AL, with Rev. Randy Newman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hermon Ray Pouncy; daughter, Sandra Wright; granddaughter, Belinda Gail Girdner; grandson, James Robert Carmichael, Jr. and step granddaughter, Peggy Couey.

She is survived by her son, Stuart Ray (Cathy) Pouncy, Shorter, AL; daughters, Mary Phyllis (Tom) Girdner, Orange Beach, AL; Hazel (Minuard) Ashmore, Rainbow City, AL and stepdaughter, Joyce Carpenter, Semmes, AL.; grandsons, Hal (Alison) Ashmore, Glencoe, AL, Chris (Jennifer) Pouncy, Montgomery, AL; granddaughters, Melissa (David) McCallum, Clermont, FL; Sheila (Wayne) Heermans, Allen, TX, Tammi (Philip) Brantner, Splendora, TX and Alicia (Nace) Evans, Prattville, AL; step- grandsons, Mike(Robin) Wade, Mobile, AL and Danny (Sandra) Wade, Semmes, AL; step granddaughters, Diane Clausen, Semmes, AL and Debra Wiggins, Citronelle, AL. Mrs. Pouncy had ten great grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren.

She was an owner of Airway Cleaners and owned Mary Pouncy Custom Draperies in Montgomery before retiring to Rainbow City. She was a member of North Glencoe Baptist Church and was active in its Dreamers Senior Ministry. She enjoyed being a member of Carol’s Red Hat Society. She was a member of Evangel Temple before moving to Rainbow City.
