Dr. Mary Stewart Relfe heard the words “Well done thy good and faithful servant” on Sunday, August 7, 2011 as she met her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Conyers Blakeley Relfe, M.D., her son, Stewart Anthony Mims, her brothers, James Stewart and Bernard Stewart.
She is survived by her brother Hubert E. Stewart, her sisters Betty S. Heath and Carolyn Stone, and her granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Mims.
Dr. Relfe was an accomplished businesswoman, having built, co-owned and operated the Downtown Nursing Home, now Capitol Hill Health Care Center in Montgomery, Al. She was a best selling author of many books, including the New York Times bestseller, When Your Money Fails. She began the League of Prayer in 1980, a non-profit, Christian ministry impacting the lives of many people around the world for Jesus Christ. She was a licensed pilot, a certified flight instructor, and a precious grandmother to her Sarah.
Visitation will be at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, AL at
1 PM on Wednesday August 10, 2011, with funeral services to immediately follow at 2 PM. Rev. Larry Burke, Rev. Brian Taylor and Rev. Adrian Carr will officiate. Pall bearers are Adrian Carr, Patrick Heath, Jacob Nummy, Ronnie Nummy, Eldridge Stewart, Matt Stewart, and John Thomas. Interment will be in Camellia Mausoleum in Greenwood Cemetery.
