Mary Thornton Thompson

Mary Thornton Thompson went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Leak Memory Chapel at 11:00 am. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband of 50 years, James R. (Bobby) Thompson, three sons Robert M. (Matt) Thompson and wife Betsy, James R. (Ryan) and wife Nicole and Daniel A. Thompson and wife Jennifer, ten grandchildren Mary Grace Thompson, Kate Thompson, John Robert Thompson, Macie Thompson, Klara Thompson, River Thompson, James David Thompson, Eden Thompson, Kayle Bell and Cole Bell.

Serving as pallbearers will be River Thompson, James David Thompson, John Robert Thompson, Kenny Williamson, Keith Shippey, Telly Stratas, Erik Smith and Stephen Age.

In 1994 Mary and James Bozeman began the R.E. Lee Hall of Fame which remains active today with over 600 members. Honorary pallbearers are the Robert E. Lee Hall of Fame. Memorials may be made to the Montgomery Humane Shelter, R.E. Lee Hall of Fame or the Food Banks in Montgomery or Birmingham.
