Mary is survived by her sons Scottie Cornell; Stephen (Amanda) Cornell; and J C Travis; brother Tony Fountain and sister-in-law Cheryl Travis; her aunts Helen Fuller, Jeanette Mickey and Linda Robinson; an uncle Jerry Robinson and cousin Karen Clark. Mary was preceded in death by her husband John M. Travis; mother-in-law Charlotte Travis Sink; father Ernest Fountain and mother Claudine Robinson Fountain.
A Lee High School graduate, Mrs. Travis worked as a secretary with Jackson hospital for many years. She loved to cook for her boys and she will be remembered as a great mama whose world revolved around them. As Mary wrestled with cancer over the last six years, she celebrated each treatment by eating out at her favorite Mexican restaurant. She delighted in her dogs: Nipper, Zeus, Chipper and Rosco.
A family and friends visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel. On Thursday, October 1, 2020 a chapel service is set for 11:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel with burial to follow in Clear Springs Cemetery, Clear Springs, Florida.
