Mary E. Vowell

Mary E. Vowell (Keenum), 84, quietly passed away at her home, August 29, 2012. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Born February 15, 1928 in Southside, Alabama, she is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. She is survived by a brother and many nieces and nephews. Mary leaves her devoted husband of 65 years, Norman L. Vowell; daughters Pam Morgan along with husband Buddy, and Phyllis Campbell; grandchildren Ryan Morgan and his wife Missy, Kristin Morgan Sholter, and Sean Campbell; great-grandchildren Madison Ann Morgan, Kaelyn Morgan, Jackson Morgan, Mary Morgan Sholter, and Catherine Sholter. Mary devoted her life to caring for her family and community as a nurse for over 50 years. She was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church, loved spending time in her garden and cooking delicious meals for family and friends. She was a compassionate woman who will be greatly missed by many. Visitation will be held from Saturday, Sept. 1 from 12:30-2:00 at First Baptist Church, Montgomery with services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private at Greenwood Cemetery.
