Dinky was such a godly man and a great mentor to so many in Chisholm . He was certainly the kindest man I have ever met. My thoughts and prayers are with our sweet Annette, Tommy and Jerry as you celebrate him home today.

I have so many good memories of our coach. My first year of baseball should have been my last. Not my sport but coach had a way of touching the lives of our neighborhood kids. I couldn’t see the fastball and if you threw me a curve I had a better chance of hitting standing in the concession line but coach never gave up. He was always encouraging not only his players but all the kids in the league. One day I got up the nerve to ask him why he drafted me. He paused smiling to say cause your brother Doug was going to be a really good player so I had to draft you to get him! Ouch! For any of his players you could see him telling me that in his own special way. The world had a great guy in coach but his influence will live in all those who had the honor of playing ball for nothing but a winner.

We remember Mr. Dinky as a kind, caring, loving man, a man of faith and loyalty to his family. The movie showing his life is very touching, quite a memory of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Our prayers are with Miss Annette, Tommy and Patsy, Jerry and Janie, Hillary and Parker, family and friends, asking our Lord God be with you, may His grace and mercy carry you all in the days to come.
Love and prayers!
