Michael Jean Abney

ABNEY, Michael "Mike" Jean 66 went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 9, 2025. He was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama on November 12, 1958. He later moved and was a long time resident of Montgomery, Alabama. He passed peacefully at his home at Oak Landing Assisted Living in Attalla, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nila Jean Abney and father, James Hugh Abney. He is survived by his two children, Callie Abney Nolan (Christopher) and Cody Abney; three grandchildren, Dax, Whit, and Nila Nolan; sister, Ginger Abney Wilson (Kennon); nephew, Vaughn Wilson; and his loving friend, Cathy Thomas.

He was a loving and devoted father. He was known as one of the nicest and kindest individuals. He would go above and beyond for others in need , always putting others ahead of self. His passion for the car industry started at an early age growing up with his father as an auctioneer. His father started Dealers Auto Auction and left it to Mike to take over and this is where he continued to maintain and love the friendships developed in the car business. His employees, customers, and fellow auctioneers were his love and passion for decades.

His bright blue eyes, sweet smile, and gentle spirit will be missed!

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at graveside at Chana Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallassee, Alabama on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 11 AM. The cemetery is located at 2873 Neman Road, Tallassee, Alabama 36078. Friends and family are welcome.
