Millard Caldwell Moore

Millard Caldwell Moore, age 90, a longtime resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Thursday, March 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Jo Ann Johnson Moore; his parents Jesse J. and Hortense Ruth Moore; his brothers Jessie Moore, Willis Moore and Clayton Moore; and his sister Edith Owen. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Moore Boles and his son, Steven Caldwell (Michele) Moore. He was known as "Papa" to his four granddaughters, Leslie Boles (Brett) Angerer, Sarah Boles (Drew) Anderson, Meredith Raye Moore, and Katherine Caldwell Moore; and his great grandson, Luke Caldwell Angerer.

Millard was born in Bagdad, Florida on January 30, 1933. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery. A proud member of Free Masons and the Alcazar Shrine, he worked for Kershaw Mfg. and Knox Kershaw Co. for 44 years until he retired as president and chief operating officer at Knox Kershaw Co. He proudly served his country in the US Army Reserves.

Millard was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He loved few things more than his garden and the University of Alabama. Roll Tide!

A visitation for Millard will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens officiated by Matt McCord.

Pallbearers will be Phil Owen, Mike Johnson, Karl Murray, Jerry Wyatt, Greg Easterling, Brett Angerer, Drew Anderson and Larry Forrest.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Baptist Hospital East doctors and nurses, Southern Hospice, and Answered Prayers Home Health.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Millard's memory may be made to Big Oak Ranch, 258 Jake Mintz Rd., Gadsden, Alabama 35905 US.
