Mitchell G. (Mickey) Bedingfield, 76, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on February 6, 2026, at UAB Hospital Palliative Care.
Mickey was born on June 20, 1949, to Hubert & Lala Bedingfield of Rogersville, Alabama. After attending Lauderdale County High School, he received a degree in math from Auburn University.
Mickey is survived by his wife, Betsy Broom Bedingfield; daughter, April Woodham (Craig); son, David Alberson (Shelley); son, Patrick Lindsay (Stephanie); sister, Libby Thompson (George); brother, Jerry Bedingfield; grandchildren, Halle Lanier, Tyler Woodham, Sara Grace Lindsay, Abby Woodham, Jada Allen, Madison Miliner, & Caitlyn Miliner, & one great- granddaughter, Addison Lanier, with many nieces & nephews.
Mickey was a loving husband, father, & Papa to his family, but his first love was Jesus Christ. He steadfastly walked out his faith in his Lord throughout his life. He was a role model to many of unconditional love, grace, & compassion. Mickey cared deeply about his country & spent much time in prayer for its citizens.
He loved Auburn University. Many happy memories were made enjoying Tigers’ various sporting events.
A memorial service to celebrate Mickey’s life will be held on Saturday, February 14, at Extreme Worship Church, 318 North Decatur Street, Montgomery, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 10:00 with the service immediately following at 10:30.
