

Nancy Lucretia Parker was born on June 13, 1957 in Lauderdale County, Alabama. She was adopted as an infant by Harold “Buster” Parker and Rachel Wheeler Parker. Nancy grew up in Lineville, AL. She graduated from Lineville High School and attended the University of Montevallo where she earned a bachelor’s degree in history. She lived in Talladega for a time after that working for Coca Cola.
Nancy moved to Montgomery, AL in 1988 after taking a job at GE Plastics (later to become Sabic Innovative Plastics) and worked there until she retired in 2016. She was an active member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon.
Nancy was a kind, gentle soul who loved animals and people. She never met a stranger and people liked her instinctively. She was extremely generous with her time and resources. She was an avid fan of Alabama football. She loved her family, making birdhouses, taking cruises, and the occasional trip to a casino. She loved all animals but was particularly fond of dogs. She was a fierce and loyal friend
Nancy is survived by Melanie Duncan, her partner of 36 years; her dog, Otis; and a host of cousins and friends.
Immanuel Presbyterian Church will host a memorial service to honor her memory on June 15, 2026 at 11:00 am.
