

Nixon is preceded in death by Carmelo de Jesús Mejía Ramirez, Marili de Jesús Avila, Alicia Pineda, Petrona de Jesús Mejía, Yudilda Davila, Clementino Yumán, Juan Jose Arevalo, Jose Antonio Arevalo, Aura Lily Arevalo, Marto Yumán, Maxima Santos, Vicente Mejía, and Pilla Ramírez.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Erika Adalinda Mejía Arevalo; his sons, Franklin Abad Mejía Arevalo and Nixon Alexis Mejía Arevalo; his daughter, Angelita Rocio Mejía Arevalo; his brothers, Melqui Sedet Yumán, Gelver Efren Mejía Yumán, Marto Vicente Mejía Yumán, Santos Eliakin Mejía Yumán, Jaime Avigail Mejía Yumán, and Elio Danilo Mejía Yumán; and his mother, Lucia Yumán Santos.
Nixon moved to Montgomery from his hometown of Amberes, Santa Rosa, Guatemala. He was a local business owner, co-founding King Tire Services with his brother, Santos, and founding Kingdom Tires. In his free time, he enjoyed singing karaoke, cooking, horseback riding, gardening, and entrepreneurship. He was passionate about supporting his friends, family and community and bringing joy and laughter to others.
He was an accomplished man, obtaining his U.S. citizenship in 2024. He was also recognized for Comite Organizador de la Feria Amberes 2025 and Participante en la tradicion de los antorchistas, La Antorcha de la Libertad, conocimiento dado en la Ciudad de Esquipulas 2025.
A wake for Nixon will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 AM Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109.
