Norma Holzman Michelson, born in Birmingham, Alabama and longtime resident of Montgomery, Alabama, died June 21, 2022 at the age of 95. Norma attended the University of Alabama where she received a business degree. She worked as a secretary at Birmingham Vending Company until she met and married her husband, Leonard Michelson in 1952. Norma worked with her husband in building his dental practice in Montgomery. There they raised three beautiful and talented children. At her leisure, Norma enjoyed cooking, needlepoint, knitting, reading and watching game shows. As many women do, Norma also loved beautiful high heels and dressing up for a night of dining and dancing with her husband and friends. She loved traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. Norma will be remembered for her kind nature and thoughtfulness. She is survived by her children, Marcia Maharam of New York City and son Bobby Michelson and his wife Anne of Birmingham, her grandchildren, Dr. Edward Maharam and his wife, Melanie of Orlando, Florida, Maggie and Joel Michelson, and great grandchildren, Cora Joy and Gemma Beatrice Maharam, and her brother Ralph Holzman of Birmingham. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Michelson, her daughter, Bari Michelson Reed, and her parents, Florence and Joseph Holzman. Norma was loved by many and will be missed.
A visitation for Mrs. Michelson will be held Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 2:30 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the visitation will be a graveside at 3:30 PM at Eternal Rest in Oakwood Cemetery, Montgomery, AL.
