Norman Hill Rahn Jr.

He was predeceased by his parents, Norman Hill and Ruth Rahn, his best friend and wife of 61 years, Bobbie S. Rahn, and his son, Dr. Norman H. Rahn, III. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan Rahn DuBose and E. L. DuBose and his daughter-in-law, Connie Crawford Rahn; as well as his grandchildren, Deana Lawler, Les Lawler, Rebekah Monson, Andrea Vigil, Matthew Monson, Amanda Monson, Elizabeth Rahn, and Noah DuBose, and “adopted” granddaughters, Rosa Santiago and Dawn Price. He was also survived by his great-grandchildren, John Luke Lawler, Josiah Rahn Monson, Violet Ruth Monson, Josephine Pearl Wilkins, and Austin Eugene Wilkins, and his sister- and brother-in-law Martha and John A. Jennings, along with many nieces and nephews. He proudly served his country for more than 40 years in the Alabama Air National Guard. Norman and Bobbie were active members of Eastern Hills Baptist Church and belonged to the Sandifer Sunday School class. He was a member of the Montgomery Civitan Club for more than 30 years and had served in various leadership roles. He also was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Oak Park Lodge No. 864. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to their church family, Oak Grove Inn, Wesley Gardens, and to the “Pairs and Spares”/Sandifer Sunday School class for their loving support. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2017. The celebration of his life, also at Leak Memory Chapel at 2 p.m., will be conducted by Dr. Rick Marshall, Senior Minister at Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Music will be provided by Mr. Terry Veazey and Mrs. Nancy Sellers. A graveside service will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The pallbearers are grandsons Les Lawler, Matthew Monson, and Noah DuBose; nephews John A. Jennings, Jr. and Charles E. Smith, Jr., and son-in-law, E. L. DuBose. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Montgomery Civitan Club and the Eastern Hills Men’s Prayer Group.
