Norman L. Vowell, born June 19, 1924, in Glencoe, Alabama, quietly passed away March 25, 2018, at the age of 93. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and wife of 64 years, Mary. He is survived by his two daughters, Pam (Buddy) and Phyllis; three grandchildren, Ryan (Missy), Kristin (James) and Sean (Julie); and seven great-grandchildren. He devoted his life to caring for his family and community. Mr. Vowell served his country as a veteran of World War II. For over 40 years he owned/operated Door Closer and Locksmith Service in Montgomery. He was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church, the Truitt Sunday School class, and the Montgomery Exchange Club. He was an honorable and compassionate man who will be greatly missed by many. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, from 1:00- 2:00 at Leak Memory, Montgomery, with services at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
