Ollie Hazel Speigner

Ollie “Hazel” Croley Speigner, 94, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2022, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Marvin Kent Speigner, her children Kent Speigner, Jr. (Deborah), Dyan Barfoot (Dwayne), Kathy Davis (Steve) and Cindy Cornette (Earl), her grandchildren Kelli Gant (Brooks), Shay Turner (Brian), Robbie Speigner, David Eads (Janine), Cole Speigner (Davis Ann), Tyler Eads (Paige), Scott Cornette (Kristy), Chris Cornette (Sarah), Richard Davis (Shannon), Christie Woodliffe (Daniel) and Josh Barfoot (Heather), and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Hazel was married to the love of her life for over 74 years. She loved the Lord, her family and her church. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, and especially adored her role as Meme to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for her southern hospitality and spent her life serving others through her wonderful cooking, flower arranging and entertaining. Whether it was a family dinner, a church reception or a large catering event, our beloved Meme always put on the perfect spread.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 11:00 am at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Warren Culver officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons Robbie Speigner, Cole Speigner, David Eads, Tyler Eads, Scott Cornette and Chris Cornette. Donations may be made to Capital Heights Baptist Church, Eastmont Baptist Church Fund or Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama in her memory.
