Owen Dunn McFaden

Owen Dunn McFaden, resident of Shelby Ridge Health Care in Alabaster, AL, and former resident of Montgomery and Talladega, Alabama, died Saturday, August 9, 2014. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Leak-Memory Chapel in Montgomery at 12 noon followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Minister Charles Thrasher will officiate. Burial will follow at Cain’s Chapel UMC Cemetery, Holtville, AL.

Mrs. McFaden was born in Camden, AL, on August 5, 1916, and was a graduate of the University of Montevallo. She was a retired teacher and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Montgomery, AL.

Mrs. McFaden was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years George Gavin McFaden, Sr. She is survived by daughter Linda (Lewis) Miller, Pelham, AL; son Gavin (Peggy) McFaden, Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Laurie (Mike) Goode, Leigh Miller, Becky (Denny) Ard, Thomas (Jamie) McFaden, Birmingham, AL; and Tyler (Laura Beth) McFaden, Montgomery, AL; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Jared, Hudson Grace, Grayson, and Caroline; brother Barney Dunn, Union Springs, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

The family of Mrs. McFaden wishes to express their gratitude to her loving caregivers in Montgomery and in the Birmingham area at Ashton Gables, Shelby Ridge and Comfort Care Hospice.
