Patricia "Pepat" Campbell

Born May 28, 1930, Patricia was born and raised in Montgomery, where she lived her whole life, rooted in the people and places she loved and faithfully tended. A cherished presence to those who knew her, she carried herself with steady devotion and a work ethic that shaped the many seasons of her life.

Patricia was raised on her family estate in the countryside, and from an early age she found joy in the outdoors and in the rhythms of family life. She spent many hours at the Trousdale Marina, following her father as he owned and operated it, and also treasured time at the family cabin in the woods on Lake Martin. Those early years formed a lifelong appreciation for nature and home—an appreciation that later showed in the care she gave to her garden and the beauty she created with her own hands.

A progressive woman of her time, Patricia built a life marked by diligence and purpose. She worked at the Capital as Secretary in the 60's and 70's, and later managed the Woodley Country Club while her children were growing up. In the years that followed, she became a successful landlord over several properties for more than thirty years, demonstrating the kind of perseverance and responsibility that inspired respect and confidence in others.

In her youth, Patricia enjoyed water skiing on Lake Martin, along with painting and gardening—interests that remained close to her throughout her life. Her home reflected her artistic eye, with her paintings still decorating the spaces she loved. She always kept her garden and found satisfaction in tending it, a quiet, faithful practice that mirrored the devoted way she cared for the life around her.

Patricia was bold and said what needed to be said, and she also delighted in bringing people together. She loved to host and entertain family and friends, and during her years at the country club, she would often invite guests back to her home to continue fellowship and share cocktails. In these moments—both candid and welcoming—she left an enduring impression of strength, warmth, and presence.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Trousdale; mother, Mae Dene Trousdale; spouses, George Dickey and Kenneth Campbell; partner, Samuel Wilson; children, Robert Dickey, Dale Romano and Teri Leigh Nichols (Joseph); siblings, Clarence Rhett Trousdale III (Allene) and Jane Weaver Porter Wattson; and step-son, Kenneth Campbell Jr.

She is survived by her grandson, Salvatore Romano; step-daughters, Sheron Campbell and Gail Carrol (Ron); son-in-law, Patrick Romano; as well as various nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, on June 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a Graveside Service immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor Patricia may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
